Subject: Religious discussions
Description:
Fireside chats is a biweekly program lead by Hira Azher and Zaakir Tameez. In each chat, a provocative prompt is given, addressing controversial and commonly taboo topics related to Islam. For example, some previous topics have included the role of doubt in belief, the intermingling of culture and religion, and the effects of dividing into different religious sects. This dialogue is not sponsored by any specific CIO, but it is often advertised to Muslim students through the Muslim Student Association. The Listserv will expand this reach and make this discussion opportunity more accessible.
