Subject: UVA School of Medicine Disability Studies Association

Description: The Disability Studies Association (DSA)  aims to promote further and nuanced understandings of disability among future healthcare professionals, through engagement with disability studies. DSA aims to provide an open forum to learn about the variety of historical, socio-cultural, and structural factors that have contributed to the lived experiences of disabled and/or chronically ill  individuals medical students will interact with through service, clinical, or research endeavors.
