Subject: Cardiology Interest Group

Description: The Cardiology Interest Group will expose medical students to the field of cardiology and its various subspecialties early on in their medical education through faculty panels and skills workshops. We will also provide individual networking, shadowing, and research opportunities to students who are already interested in cardiology. Given the importance of our hearts, most of the practical skills that are used in cardiology (echo/US, ekg, heart auscultation, BP) are very applicable to other specialties. Therefore, we want this club to have as many practical opportunities as there are lectures/panels. We believe that the ubiquitous nature of these skills will make this club popular beyond just those interested in cardiology. We hope to demonstrate the breadth of possibilities that exist within the field of cardiology in an interactive and meaningful way.
