Subject: Announcements for meetings, events, and goals of UVA's first clowning CIO.

Description: Hey everyone! As you have heard, this is the start of UVA's first clowning CIO. This Listserv will function as a means to announce meeting dates and agendas, as well as to inform you all about the events and plans that are coming up.


The main objective of this club is to create a welcoming community for anyone of any experience to learn about the art of clowning. This will encompass anything from stilt walking, juggling, and balloons to full-fledged circus acts like tightrope walking. An overall goal of mine is to raise money and grow our skills throughout the year to then show off in a performance at the end of the year. Of course, I am not going to force anyone to perform, if you would like to come and learn, I'd be more than happy to teach you! Other goals for this club include, but are not limited to: visiting local hospitals to perform for the patients there, working events throughout the Charlottesville community, and attending clown conventions with the club.

Because of the nature of this club, I am sure that there will be plenty of people who stroll in and out of meeting days and who will just come to learn a trick or two. That's fine, I love teaching anyone who is the least bit interested in what we do. I am certain that there will also be a core group who will come to as many meetings as they physically can and who think this is coolest performing art they've ever seen. Obviously, that is also something I will enjoy. This organization will be able to accommodate any level in which you want to apply yourself. If you would seriously want to do this professionally, we can work on bookings. If you want to come and watch people do cool things, we will do cool things for you! See everyone around!
