Subject: Bengali Student Organization at UVA

Description: The Bengali Student Organization is a student-run organization that serves to educate and bring together members of the University community who are interested in and/or directly affiliated with the culture and experiences of Bengal, a region encompassing both the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. BSO also serves to bring attention to issues that affect the Bengal region including but not limited to: poverty, economic instability, human rights, environmental concerns, inequality, racial and religious strife, and the Rohingya refugee crisis. We aim to be an inclusive organization with our goal to teach others the Bengali culture/language!
