Subject: Intellectual Thought About People of the African Diaspora

Description: The AAS Major’s Union shall be a student-led unit of Carter G. Woodson Institute of African-American and African Studies. Its aims shall be:
1. to represent and help satisfy the academic and social needs and interests of both prospective and declared AAS majors and minors
2.to contribute to an enhanced, extracurricular AAS experience among prospective and declared AAS Majors minors
3.to encourage the growth of the back studies community at UVA
4. to help expand the public reach of the work of the black studies community at UVA a past Grounds into the wider Charlottesville and Virginia publics
