Dear VAA,

Here to share some news about events with you.

First, our club's regular meeting will be tonight. It is a social meeting, where you will be able to relax, chat, and play board games (bring your own if you like; we will be supplying games as well.) Come join us! Also, interested in an appointed officer position for the Fall? We would like to start talking to you about it!

That meeting will be:

Tues, 7:00 P.M., 1/29, in Monroe Hall 134

(Monroe Hall is right behind Brown College.)

Second, the Bahá'í Student Association has extended an invitation to our club to attend a speaking event they're hosting on Thursday, titled "Belief in Science and Belief in God." Dr. Dinesh Singh, a theoretical physicist and follower of the Bahá'í faith, will be presenting on the title topic, and defending the notion that "belief within science is not fundamentally different from belief within religion." (I'm sure that will prick up the hairs on some of your necks.) So, I would definitely encourage a group of VAAers to go, and to speak up too. Joel, our events officer, will be meeting up with VAAers before-hand, outside Chem at 6:40, to organize the walk over there.

The event will be:

Thursday, 7:00 P.M., 1/31, in the Newcomb Kaleidoscope Room

Third, this Friday, the Christian Study Center is holding its first bimonthly "Faith, Reason, and Science" discussion group of the semester. The topic is the mind and the soul, and they welcome the atheist perspective. If you're interested, come join some other VAAers who attend. (I'd normally be in attendance but will be out of town.)

That will be:

Friday, 4:00 P.M., 2/1, at the Christian Study Center on Chancellor Street (by the Corner)
