Dear Mr. Kubinski,

My name is Owen Gallogly, and I am the Membership Chair of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society.  I am getting in touch with you in order to reach out to the Virginia Atheists and Agnostics and encourage your members to interview for Society membership.

Founded in 1825, the Jefferson Society is the oldest student organization on Grounds.  We meet weekly on Friday evenings in Jefferson Hall, Hotel C on the West Range to discuss topics of mutual interest and enjoy each other's company.  More information about the Society can be found here: www.jeffersonsociety.org.  I think many of your members would find interviewing and membership in the Society an enjoyable and valuable experience.

If you wouldn't mind sending out the attached blurb to your organization and contacting any members individually who you think would be interested that would be a great help.

Thank you so much for your help.

Yours sincerely,

Owen W. Gallogly
Membership Chair,
Jefferson Literary and Debating Society

Join the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society

Are you interested in meeting an intellectually diverse and interesting group of students who will challenge the way you think?

Would you like to, in turn, develop and share your views on what you’re passionate about, whether it’s history, philosophy, music, science, literature, or something completely different?

Founded in 1825, the Jefferson Society fosters a collision of minds in an intellectually diverse and challenging environment. James Madison, Woodrow Wilson, and Edgar Allan Poe are counted among its members, while Society guests include former Presidents, Nobel Prize winners, ambassadors and Pulitzer Prize-winning authors.

All you have to do is interview.

Interviews will take place:

Monday, January 23 – Friday, January 27 from 12PM to 5PM

As well as Tuesday, January 24 and Thursday, January 25 from 7PM to 9PM

In Hotel C, West Range

Interviews will be a 30-45 minute discussion, focusing on the topics you indicate as interests. To expedite the process, you are welcome to fill out an interview card or submit contact information by exploring the following link: http://jeffersonsociety.org/joining/.  Questions should be directed to .

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there!
