You are invited to a free performance of Cage's Organ2/ASLSP (As SLow aS Possible). This concert will be the longest human performance of the piece on record to date, providing listeners a unique opportunity to hear the entire composition played on American soil. This free concert will take place at Organ Hall in Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) will start at noon (MST) on Jan. 7, 2026 and end at noon on Jan. 15, 2026.

The concert will also be open to a live audience in the hall between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm daily throughout the performance.
 
Four American organists, (Christopher Anderson of Southern Methodist University, Diane Luchese of Towson University, Kimberly Marshall of Arizona State University, and Alexander Meszler of Luther College), will perform this continuous 192-hour realization of John Cage’s Organ 2/ASLSP as a tag team. Each organist will play one shift daily over the eight-day course, and each of the eight movements will last 24 hours. The only pauses in the sound will be the notated musical rests.

(As you may already know, the longest [non-human] staging of this composition is currently in progress at St. Burchardi Church in Halberstadt, Germany. It began on Sept. 5, 2001 and will conclude in 2640. The next scheduled sonority change will be on Aug. 5, 2026.)
