I’m sorry to share the news that composer Yasunao Tone passed away on March 12 at the age of 90 — he and Cage held mutual admiration for one another. (When Andrew Culver invited me to work with him at the Yellow Spring Institute way back in the day (when was that, Andrew? late 80s?), Tone was there too along with Tom Buckner and Barbara Held, and I spent many late evenings with Tone talking and sipping whisky.) Such a great creative spirit.
