Hi all.
I'm looking for some specific information about Cage's "Imaginary Landscape No. 2"--NOTE: the first one from 1940 that he withdrew, and NOT the one from 1942 (which only makes things harder, of course).
Specifically:
We know that the "Imaginary Landscape No. 1" uses the following system of rhythmic organization--
15 measures + 1-measure coda
15 measures + 2-measure coda
15 measures + 3-measure coda
15 measures + 4-measure coda
Along those same lines, what is the system of organization for the original "Imaginary Landscape No. 2?" I'm guessing it's not a micro-macrocosmic structure but would at least reflect the same kind of rigor as "Imaginary Landscape No. 1." But I'd rather not guess, of course!
The score is unpublished and at the New York Public Library--which helps me not at all here in Chicago. Any informed insights welcome! And if you have a citation to go with it, double-gracias! :)
