Northwestern University Library is pleased to announce the recipients of the
John Cage Research Grant for 2014-2015. This annual competitive grant,
established in 2013 and awarded this year for the first time, promotes the
study of John Cage's life, music, art, and ideas through the use of
Northwestern's John Cage Collection. Over the coming year, the grant will
support three projects:

Alyssa M. Cottle (Occidental College) -- Cage's ideas and attitudes on
improvisation after 1970
Glenn Freeman (OgreOgress Productions) -- To produce commercial recordings
based on original materials in the Cage Collection
Abigail Sebaly (Walker Art Center) -- Merce Cunningham Dance Company's 1964
world tour

For each of these projects, the grant will be used to cover transportation,
accommodations, and other costs associated with visiting Northwestern for
extensive on-site use of the Cage Collection. The call for applications for
next year's grant will be announced near the end of 2014. More information on
the John Cage Research Grant is available at:
