Dear colleagues,

This message is somewhat belated, as the official John Cage centennial
was 2012, but as events celebrating Cage continue into Spring of 2013,
I would like to draw your attention to an invaluable new resource for
Cage scholars and enthusiasts, created by Jonathan Manton for Oral
History of American Music. As many of you know, Jon worked as one of
the creators of the Britten Thematic Catalog and recently joined the
Archive of Recorded Sound at Stanford University as Sound Archives
Librarian. During the course of last year he also found the time to
come regularly to OHAM as a Visiting Scholar and create John Cage
Materials at Yale: A Study Guide. We did sort of a soft roll-out at
the end of last year and now I'm finally getting around to announcing
it. This guide describes not only OHAM's extensive Cage holdings but
links to descriptions of Cage materials located in Yale's other
archival collections, the Yale University Art Gallery, and Yale's
Visual Resources Center, as well as providing a handy list of
resources at other institutions.

If there's anything about the guide I've neglected to mention, I hope
Jon will chime in. Looking forward to seeing folks in San Jose!
