Hi all,
I also know the "Nota Bene" explanation, but I also do not think that Cage means this. It does not fit with his way of notating. Nowhere else he gives such general vague advices. I have not the score with me but I also inreprete this as "near bridge". And I think also in 26' 1.1499'' it means "near bridge" (also not having the score with me).
