doubtful. as i have heard it, duchamp was an excellent chess player-
much more skilled than cage in this respect. iirc, duchamp spent much
of the later part of his life playing chess and raising his ranking.
however, even if i am more inclined toward reincarnation than 'heaven'
in my guesses about what it's like after dying- i do not think cage
would mind losing to duchamp in chess [repeatedly]. after all, he's
one of cage's spiritual ancestors [like satie and james joyce].
