Are you asking about "school of thought" in the arts only
or as something philosophically larger in scope? Because,
yes, you have the Wandelweiser folks in Nordrhein-Westfalen
who perform works that feature performance-specific silences,
but this would, for me, place it outside any form of commemorative 
silence as well as forms of spiritual-based silence and probably a few 
other forms as well (disputatious, for instance). I suppose there would 
be a connect in that they would all be "silence-in-brackets" type of 
events, but possibly the question can be (or needs to be) 
contracted to find the answer of which you may be 
searching. In my works, I've been devoted to the 
composed "situational-event" - the event in 
which a silence or inner non-event may be 
contained within a composed situation.
