Please take note of this upcoming festival and research summit which is centered on John Cage and his influence.

CALL FOR PAPERS: nief-norf Research Summit
1-3 June 2012, Furman University

The nief-norf Research Summit is currently soliciting proposals for papers and panel discussions for its 2012 gathering, held June 1-3 at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. This conference is part of the nief-norf Summer Festival: http://www.niefnorf.org/

To acknowledge and celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth, the 2012 nief-norf Research Summit will explore John Cage’s works and his influence on contemporary music and visual art. The nnRS will feature a John Cage-inspired Musicircus on Friday, June 1 and a keynote presentation by Kyle Gann on Saturday, June 2.
