Title: Series of concerts for Cage's 100th anniversary In the early Fall of 2012 the S.E.M. Ensemble is planning a series of events for John Cage’s 100th anniversary.
The central event will be the repeated program (from 1992) at Carnegie Hall by the SEM Orchestra with David Tudor and Petr Kotik, “Tribute to John Cage” (“…across expanses of tedium, an epiphany rises in the back of the mind.” –Alex Ross, New York Times). The Cage 100th Anniversary Series in the fall of 2012 will include concerts in different locations by other composers who have been, to a degree, influenced by Cage (Feldman, Wolff, Kotik, Brown and others).
We are seeking the possibility of collaborating administratively and managerially with someone knowledgeable and interested to help with the project. The sky is the limit as far as the intensity of collaboration and assistance given to this project. The large scale of the project requires that the work start ASAP.
