Ostravská banda was formed in August 2005 as the resident chamber orchestra for the Ostrava Days Institute and Festival. Besides performances at Ostrava Days Festivals (2005, 2007, 2009), they have performed major concerts at the Paris Conservatory, Carnegie Hall, and Prague Spring 2008 Festival, among others. Ostravská banda consists of young musicians from Europe and United States whose primary interest is the performance of new music. Principal conductors are Petr Kotik (New York), Roland Kluttig (Berlin) and Peter Rundel (Berlin). The core ensemble consists of 24 musicians and is adjusted according to the demands of each program.
