Sounds wonderful Glenn. Unfortunately won't be anywhere near Grand Rapids, otherwise would have loved to experience it. I have visited the Dream House before which was a transformative listening and body experience.

Good luck with it.

This is an open invitation to Silence list members who happen to be near
Grand Rapids, Michigan from September 22nd to October 10th. We're hoping
you'll spend some time at our audio installation and also let us know you're
in town.

Just yesterday we installed the piece and will be tweaking it from now until the
exhibit closes. The listening environment is wonderful, especially for those who
wish to spend long periods of careful listening in a darkened, quiet environment.
The style of presentation can be directly attributed to a visit we made to La
Monte Young's loft in NYC in the 1990s ... we volunteered to watch over the Dream
House for one evening. Information can be found at

This recontextualization of John Cage's major orchestral work consists of 3
modules and 7 manifestations. The epic length work takes the form of a
continuously looping kaleidoscopic audio installation. One of the below 7
manifestations will be occurring as you enter the space and careful listening
will reveal which one. A complete cycle takes 3 hours 18 minutes so
participants are encouraged to listen for long periods and return often.

Twenty-Six [26 minutes]
for 26 violins

Twenty-Eight [28 minutes]
for 28 winds

Twenty-Nine [29 minutes]
for 29 low strings, percussion and bowed piano

Twenty-Six with Twenty-Eight [28 minutes]
for 54 violins and winds

Twenty-Six with Twenty-Nine [29 minutes]
for 55 violins, low strings, percussion and bowed piano

Twenty-Eight with Twenty-Nine [29 minutes]
for 57 winds, low strings, percussion and bowed piano

Twenty-Six, Twenty-Eight&  Twenty-Nine [29 minutes]
