Dear Colleagues,
I'm writing to share that my colleague Jane Stapleton and I are facilitating a webinar on Shifting to Online: Sexual and Relationship Violence Prevention in a COVID-19 Reality on Wednesday, September 9th 1-2:30pm EST. More information
is included below.
COVID-19 has both increased risk factors for sexual and relationship violence and made providing prevention education more difficult. This workshop applies the best available evidence on e-learning, micro-learning, cognitive load, and prevention by providing
prevention educators with strategies to adapt their prevention efforts to the current reality. The presenters will share an intersectional and trauma-informed approach to adapting prevention strategies through uncertainty, technological limitations, and crowded
communication channels. A curated list of further resources to learn about virtual trauma-informed prevention education will be provided.
Registration cost: $60 (includes recording)
Participants will be able to:
- Describe principles of e-learning, micro-learning, cognitive load, and trauma-informed prevention.
- Develop core prevention messaging that can be shared through multiple formats.
- Apply an intersectional and trauma-informed approach for adapting prevention efforts through uncertain times.
- List resources for further information and to share with others.
My best,
LB
