Last night on Facebook a Residence Life office (from what university I don’t recall) posted a google doc of thoughts/suggestions that people could add to.

Perhaps that would be a helpful thing to do. (admittedly, there are probably many of you with created google cloud doc skills that are greater than mine).

For sure, adding hand sanitizer and Lysol to event kits is a great idea.

 

I just want put it in writing, to affirm (and because its where I currently am, but also in a stage of life where I’m confident to express it)…planning is a way to feel like you have control in a time where it doesn’t feel like you have control.

Hi all,

Our institution is in Idaho, where there are no confirmed cases.  We've been encouraged to refrain from making public statements about the virus and letting all communications come from the President's office so they are informed, unified and not causing panic (I'm on board with this and it doesn't feel stifling, happy to share her message if that's helpful).  Our institution is practicing a day of all classes going online on Friday, but there have not yet been any directives about programs are offered.  I think we will move forward with our small scale programs with a sense of hopefulness and normalcy, and encourage folks to wash hands (our next event is a craft and game night with snacks), continue to regularly sanitize tables and shared spaces/items, and ask folks to be thoughtful about attending a later event if they are not feeling well.   I'll share out if anything changes. :)

I have an event planned with dining services that we will move to September (and I might reprise then anyway as I think it will be an easy to repeat kind of thing). I am starting to let myself have some headspace towards what a social media effort might look like. I have given consideration to making more of my trainings available online and this will free up the time to make that shift.

I think we, as a group, should consider how we might work together in resource development. I’ve been asked to consider what a plan to work from home might look like and maybe this is a once in a not often opportunity to collaborate and share best practices.

I still don’t know what is going to happen on my campus and at this point it would just be nice to not have three possible outcomes for everything (life as planned, no students on campus and quarantined at home)

Hi Everyone,

 

Like all campuses, there are committees or threat assessment teams discussing the institution’s response to various things including Faculty teaching remotely, housing, dining, etc. Have you heard any conversations as it relates to programming efforts? Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) is next month and I am wondering how you are planning. I think we have over 10 programs for that month and I am thinking about how I could adjust to fit the climate and/or our campuses needs…

 

I am currently at a conference but plan to touch base with my supervisor and the COVID-19 Threat Assessment team upon my return. However, I would love to get your input.
