About This position is being offered through the Research Foundation for SUNY through the SUNY Sexual and Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Response Project, a division of the Office of General Counsel. This project is a multi-faceted, collegial approach to reducing violence on campus and in the community. With the support of and in partnership with SUNY campuses, law enforcement, State agencies and community organizations, we develop training sessions and resources to promote evidence-based and promising approaches to reducing violence and responding appropriately when violence occurs. The State University of New York, System Administration is searching for a Staff Associate for an expanded SUNY's Got Your Back program. The Staff Associate will work with the Principal Investigator and Director to develop and manage a complex program to assemble and track up to 100,000 comfort bags per year for victims/survivors of violence across New York State. Bags will be assembled by volunteers at SUNY campus events across the State of New York as well as at major athletic, fashion, arts and cultural events. Bags will be distributed to hospitals, rape crisis programs and domestic violence shelters to meet organizational needs, and usage of bags will be tracked in a complex system to enable reporting to the federal government. Concurrently, the Director, with the Assistance of the Staff Associate and SUNY System and Campus professionals, will develop print and digital awareness campaigns to educate New Yorkers (students and non-students) about available resources, including those offered by the State University of New York, the Office of Victim Services, and other allied organizations. SUNY seeks dedicated, creative professionals, equally interested in big picture and key detail, and ones who thrives in a team-based environment. The successful candidates will work closely with colleagues addressing the lifecycle of violence prevention and response to ensure all projects succeed and grow. The successful candidate will have relevant experience, but a continuing commitment to further their knowledge base. They will work with the Principal Investigator, Project Director, and professionals from across the State to expand and develop new methods to advance the obligations and opportunities of the Got Your Back program and assist in related projects and programs that advance the general mission of the Project and work with the funder. The position will require significant travel to campus and event sites, organization and attention to detail. These positions are Research Foundation for SUNY grant-funded positions under a multi-year award. In brief, this position presents an opportunity to lead the build out a successful program, aiding hundreds of thousands of victims/survivors of crime, while educating hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers live and via traditional and social media, potentially saving lives and reducing violence. Duties and Responsibilities: · Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, Project Director, and team members to develop programming around the assembly of up to 100,000 comfort bags annually. · Assist in developing, maintaining, and expanding upon a database of volunteers assembling the bags, and a database of the lifecycle of each assembled bag for federal reporting purposes. · Assist in developing, maintaining, and distributing traditional and social media materials and campaigns, educating students and community members. · Bring in campus and community partners to further the work of SUNY's Got Your Back. ·
Track progress of programs and assist in assessment of outcomes and programs. Required Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. · A minimum of one year of relevant experience (if directly relevant, experience can be developed in an educational environment). · Demonstrated ability to function positively in a fast-paced, team-based environment. · Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Demonstrated experience managing a project or seeing a major task through to completion. · Ability to lift 50 pounds. · Valid New York State Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications: While the University recognizes that no candidate will have all preferred qualifications, some combination of these factors will present a plus to the hiring committee: · Master's Degree, J.D., Ph.D., Ed.D or related degree. · One or more years of relevant experience in a working environment. · Experience working in an educational environment, especially but not exclusively, in student affairs, Title IX, or related. · Experience working with New York State law and/or SUNY system and campus policy. · Experience working within a large, complex organization. · Experience with analytics, database use or management, and/or logistics. · Experience developing programs, training, or resources. · Experience with media, marketing, or communications. · Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
