PREVENTION AND EDUCATION SPECIALISTViolence Prevention and Response (VPR), to provide support and direction to education and prevention initiatives.  Will address the needs of the community by coordinating outreach and education efforts both within VPR and throughout the Institute to prevent violence, including sexual and domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment.  Will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of interpersonal violence prevention, education, and training programs and initiatives for the entire MIT community; and broadly work to address the wellbeing of MIT students by promoting healthy behaviors and focusing on topics such as hazing, bullying, and interpersonal violence. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  three years of related experience; demonstrated knowledge of sexual and relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment; excellent speaking, writing and interpersonal skills; superior training and facilitation skills; experience working with diverse populations; familiarity with gender-based violence terminology; and knowledge of prevention and evaluation.  Must be able to ability to work independently and take initiative; plan, develop, and organize; work in a high pressure, dynamic environment; and identify students in crisis and respond appropriately.  An advanced degree public health, education, etc., is preferred.  Job #16103

Must be willing and able to perform on-call responsibilities and work evenings and weekends as needed to fulfill the mission of the position.
