This is a rather unique piece of data. Is Everfi compiling a list by state as well? I am at a NY campus and NYS law 129b require us to track new student education, online training being just one of the methods campuses might employ. I am curious if there are any state/regional or public / private trends. Are you able to dig any deeper?

This is such a great question, April.  Data from nearly 1,000 of the campuses that implement EVERFI's on-line sexual assault prevention courses indicate that implied mandate is by far the most commonly used mechanism, followed by course registration holds. 

Regarding the implied mandate I expect that those campuses have a range of success with this strategy, from those like Duke that (as Howard Kallem noted) have high levels completion with the implied mandate and thus determine that other accountability measures are unneeded, to campuses where the implied mandate is less effective. 

I am attaching a best practices document regarding the use of the implied mandate that may help campuses that choose this practice achieve high levels of participation.

My best wishes to campus-based colleagues who are about to begin the fall semester, or who already have students on campus.  I hope everyone has the opportunity on this holiday weekend to find some moments for self-care.
