Hello Amazing RespectCon Fans!
‘Tis the season for the RespectCon Call for Proposals! With the Fall semester having wound down, your to-do list is probably winding down. Here’s something you can add: Write down a list of the coolest programs you do, review the attached call for proposals document, complete the online submission form and click submit! We are excited to learn about the innovative and inspiring work being done on campuses throughout the country! Please see attached for details and feel free to share this widely. Proposals must be submitted no later than5:00pm Monday, January 30th, 2017.
See attached How To Guide which may helpful if you are new to the conference proposal process (or if you need some inspiration). We welcome all (students, staff, faculty, non-campus professionals who work with college populations) to submit programs dealing with sexual violence and social justice – the themes of the conference.
Please be sure to check the RespectCon website in the upcoming weeks for updates! Registration will open January 17th, 2017 and speakers will be announced. By the middle of February we hope to share a near-finalized list of sessions accepted for RespectCon 2017! Happy holidays and we look forward to reading your RespectCon proposal!
PS – In case you need a brief refresher about RespectCon:
· RespectCon is a low-cost one-day conference held annually at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia focusing particularly on understanding sexual violence through a social justice lens. It is a space to connect with other colleagues, professionals, and students in the movement to end violence on college campuses.
· The conference allows you to present new programs, learn what student activists on other campuses find successful, explore the profession of campus anti-violence work, and much more.
· Above all, RespectCon offers a network of social justice advocates, accomplices, and collaborators from across the country that will help you create powerful change within your campus.
Best Regards,
Team RespectCon 2017
