Job description: The primary goal of the Program Coordinator: Inclusive Prevention is to organize and build capacity of community-based violence prevention efforts aimed at underserved populations to include males, LGBT, people of color, international students, students with disabilities, and veterans. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organizing and implementation of a comprehensive sexual assault, advocacy, and violence prevention programs and services for the university community, particularly underserved populations. The Program Coordinator will implement programming for males addressing both hegemonic and healthy masculinity in relation to interpersonal violence. Trains, directs, and supervises others performing various tasks associated with the delivery of programs and services, including faculty/staff, students, graduate assistants/interns and peer educators. Services include, but are not limited to: resources and referral, advocacy, event planning and coordination, support groups, community outreach, and cultural events co-sponsored with other faculty/staff organizations, student organizations and other internal and external stakeholders. This position will monitor and rotate on-call services to respond to sexual assaults and other forms of interpersonal violence on campus as appropriate. The Program Coordinator will manage a caseload including maintaining case files and responding to correspondence and telephone inquiries, develop a comprehensive plan of the client's service and advocacy needs and referring to campus and community partners as appropriate. 
This position will typically work 40 hours per/week (M-F 8:00am-5:00pm). Due to nature of the position, the schedule is subject to additional hours, occasional evenings or weekends depending on programming. This position also includes being on-call (after hours and weekends).  

 

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in health education, health promotion, or related field and 2 year experience or a bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion or a related field and 4 years related experience. 

 

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in health education, health promotion, higher education administration, counselor education, psychology, social work or related field and 2 years' experience or bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion, psychology, sociology or related field and 4 years' related experience. Strong leadership, organization, facilitation and presentation skills required. Ability to speak to large audiences and facilitate small group discussions. Knowledge of theories/models associated with interpersonal violence including but not limited to socioecological, feminist, social justice, as well as experience with trauma-informed care models. Experience in college health with an emphasis working with providing advocacy services to faculty and staff. Demonstrated background in program planning, implementation, policy and grant writing. Excellent organizational skills and time management necessary. Intermediate desktop publishing, word processing and spreadsheet skills highly desirable. Experience applying issues of diversity and social justice to a prevention practice. Experience with evidenced-based programming.
