Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sexual Assault Violence Intervention & Prevention, responsible for the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of sexual, gender-based and intimate partner violence; sexual and street harassment
primary prevention training and educational activities. The Program Coordinator will participate in the development of strategic plans, goals and measurable objectives for violence prevention programs and services and collaborate with departmental colleagues
to plan, build capacity, implement services/programs and evaluate theory- and evidence-informed prevention strategies. Primary duties include leading the Stand Up Carolina bystander intervention facilitator program to include training, outreach and programs.
Also serves as the primary liaison to the Changing Carolina Peer Educators. Responsible for training, directing, and supervising others performing various tasks associated with the delivery of programs and services, including students, graduate assistants/interns
and peer educators. Services include, but are not limited to: resources and referral, advocacy, event planning and coordination, support groups, community outreach, and cultural events co-sponsored with other faculty/staff organizations, student organizations
and other internal and external stakeholders. Position will rotate on-call after hours and on weekends to respond to sexual assaults and other forms of interpersonal violence. Position will manage a small caseload including maintaining case files and responding
to correspondence and telephone inquiries, developing a comprehensive plan of the client's service and advocacy needs, attending meetings and hearings as requested, and referring to campus and community partners as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in health education, health promotion, or related field and 2 year experience or bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion or related field and 4 years
related experience. Preferred Qualifications: Strong leadership, organization, facilitation and presentation skills required. Ability to speak to large audiences and facilitate small group discussions.
Knowledge of theories/models associated with interpersonal violence including but not limited to socioecological, feminist, social justice, as well as experience with trauma-informed care models. Experience in college health with an emphasis working with providing
advocacy services to students, faculty and staff. Demonstrated background in program planning, implementation, policy and grant writing. Excellent organizational skills and time management necessary. Intermediate desktop publishing, word processing and spreadsheet
skills highly desirable. Experience with evidenced-based programming and applying issues of diversity and social justice to prevention practices. Best, Shannon K.
