Hi Katelin & All,

 

I have used the Start By Believing powerpoint created by End Violence Against Women International as part of my training.  It is heavy, and can be triggering for survivors, so it is important to make the audience aware in some way about the content.  But it is a powerful illustration for those among the RA staff (or general public) who are less educated about this topic & may be skeptical about the scope & severity of the problem of sexual violence, or about the way the Criminal Justice system and the media respond.  It brings the point home about how important it is that those in a position to help the survivor (like RAs) believe them when they disclose.  And EVAWI updates the video/slideshow periodically so that it reflects current & recent situations.
