Hello colleagues and friends –

I hope that this message finds you all doing well.  This summer, I am updating our bystander intervention programs, as inspired by Step Up.

However, upon reflection upon recent events in Louisiana, Minnesota, and too many others, I realized that we may have a generation of college students that have more fears to intervene than previously considered.  Further, the impact upon social media and smart phones can have upon documenting events and intervening is something that is also different for today’s generation of college student.

For colleagues that lead these programming endeavors, how are you preparing for your fall bystander intervention programs and have you/will you address these concerns and topics with your students?

Thank you for any thoughts, suggestions, and ideas you feel comfortable sharing.

Best,
