Hi Folks. UMASS Amherst Health Services (UHS) is a SANE site. In MA our SANE Nurses are not embedded in a hospital but operate with a regional on-call schedule
and respond wherever they are needed (as long as it’s a sane site) within the region. Also, through our Attorney General’s office, all related SANE expenses are covered by Victim Compensation. UHS has been a SANE site for about 10 years. It’s a much better
experience for students than accessing the ED at the local hospital. The local Rape Crisis Center (us) responds to all the local SANE sites, whether on campus or in the community. Happy to answer more questions if it would be
helpful. Portland State University offers SANE exams by our SANE certified nurses in the health center as well. We started this program about 3 years ago. We are an urban campus with
about 30K students and have an integrated Student Health and Counseling Center. On Tue, May 10, 2016 at 11:03 AM, Megan Elizabeth Selheim <> wrote: University of Wyoming does not provide SANE exams at our campus student health clinic.
However, for those clinics that are able to provide that service and also are located in a rural
area, I would love to know how it works. We’ve had some discussions about providing SANE services on campus, but we’ve run into some political and insurance issues with our local hospital that currently conducts the exams, and we also (currently) don’t have
the patient load for it to make sense to add SANEs to student health. I’d love to have a campus program, for both cost and accessibility reasons, but we’re not sure how
to make it work in our community. Our instituion is about 10,000 on campus, about 30,000 total residents in the city, and the total county population served by the hospital is prob btwn 40,000 and 50,000 (including the city and university). -- Megan Selheim STOP Violence Program Coordinator Dean of Students Office Dept. 3135, 1000 E. We are working on providing this service beginning this summer. It's been a long process but hopefully soon we will be doing it! Our city is unique in that we only have ONE hospital
that provides the forensic exam with TWO nurses for the entire Las Vegas, Boulder City and surrounding areas.

On Behalf Of Juliette Grimmett Hey folks - Do any of your student health centers administer forensic exams? I have found this to be very rare and in fact cannot think of a campus
that does this. However, I want to get an accurate gauge for what is out there. Thanks!
