As a friendly reminder, our Call for Proposals deadline for the IU system’s Creating Cultures of Care and Compassion: Commuter and Regional Campuses’ Role in the Prevention of Sexual Violence is May 1^st. Please see the attached CfP for all the details.

 

If you would like to submit a proposal but need a few more days, please notify Marty McCampbell at and let her know you need a little more time.

 

We are really excited about the level of interest we’ve already received about this conference, and we would be delighted to see proposals from some of you! If you have developed some innovative or successful prevention initiatives for commuter students, we would love to hear from you. Or if you’ve created a successful partnership between a commuter campus and a community agency, we would be thrilled to learn from you. We also welcome sessions that focus on the challenges, opportunities, and even outright failures that you’ve experienced as you have tried to do SV prevention for commuter campuses/students. We plan for this conference to be a friendly, collegial, and supportive environment where we all work together to identify best practices for commuter campuses – so we are interesting in learning about your challenges, as well as your successes!

 

Our registration site is up and running; register here. This is a free conference and space is limited to 300 people, so we suggest registering soon. And of course, if you register and discover later that you cannot attend, we ask that you contact us so that we can release your spot.

I will get hotel info posted up in the next few weeks. Indianapolis is a lovely city to visit, with plenty of great restaurants, museums, and entertainment options.
