About the Office of Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention (VSAP):
We believe in providing a safe and secure environment in which
to live and learn, and enjoy strong support from university leadership for our
VSAP initiatives. Under the leadership of VSAP, our community has experienced a
34% decrease in underage drinking since 2008. The VSAP office has been
recognized by groups such as the US Department of Education, Outside the
Classroom (now Everfi), the US Department of Justice, the Association of
Fraternity/Sorority Advisers, and most recently the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors as a department dedicated to both innovation and
evidenced-based practice. We collaborate closely with campus, local, state, and
national partners, and empower students through peer engagement and internship
opportunities. Our staff is caring, dedicated to diversity, friendly, and fun!
