Dear SAPC and WRAC-L colleagues,

I am emailing to notify you all—somewhat belatedly—that I left my position at NASPA at the beginning of July to become an Assistant Professor of Law at Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, FL.  This new post will allow me to focus more on my research and scholarship about sexual harassment and gender-based violence in education, as well as to expand into other research projects dealing with similar civil and human rights issues.  In addition, because of family connections near Orlando, there are good personal reasons for me to relocate there right now.  Finally, Barry University’s law school is the only law school in the country at a university founded by and still led by women religious, and thus it fits well with my professional history of advancing women’s education and leadership.

Although my last day at NASPA was in early July, a variety of factors delayed this announcement until now.  The delay’s silver lining, however, is that I am able to pair the announcement of my departure with a second one, which is that NASPA will be hiring a Director for Equity, Inclusion & Violence Prevention to continue and expand the work that I started in my short time there.  That announcement is both attached and below, and it would make me very happy to see members of these listservs apply for this position.  Note that NASPA, as a national organization, does have staff working in other parts of the country besides Washington, DC, where its headquarters are.  I am happy to chat with anyone who is interested in the post about my experiences at NASPA.

For that purpose as well as remaining in touch with these groups, my new contact information can be found at: http://www.barry.edu/law/future-students/faculty/staff/ncantalupo.html.  This email address will also continue to work as my permanent alumni address, and I plan to continue to subscribe to these listservs so I can remain connected with the good work that you are all doing on your campuses and beyond.

Best,

Nancy
