Sexual Harassment and Assault Resources & Education (SHARE) Advocate

Brown University Health Services is seeking a Sexual Harassment and Assault Resources & Education (SHARE) Advocate. The position is planned for an academic schedule, working 11-months per year. The SHARE Advocate provides support to students, advocates for improved systems and responses, and conducts educational programs related to the issues of sexual violence and relationship violence. The Advocate will work with a team of colleagues in providing these services and collaborate across many departments.
Job requirements are:
- Licensed medical or mental health clinician required (Mental Health Counselor, Master of Social Work, Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or equivalent, or Nurse Practitioner with mental health expertise). Must be licensed in Rhode Island or hold one of these licenses in another state and be eligible for licensure in RI.
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal violence and the ability to provide support to survivors of interpersonal violence
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in complex, sensitive situations
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work with a diverse population of students and colleagues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to conduct educational programs and training workshops
- Familiarity with best practices related to policy development and victim advocacy preferred
- Proficient computer skills
- Available to work some nights and/or weekends
