Thank you for sending this. It sounds like for now the guidance is that universities should handle financial remedies on a case-by-case basis, but that reimbursement may be indicated if the school's inaction contributed to a barrier to education (and financial burden) for the survivor. It would be great to see guidance that speaks to survivors' rights to such support if they choose not to report to the university, but decide to withdraw from school immediately to care for themselves.

Subject: tuition reimbursement for survivors
Hello,
I have a question about tuition reimbursement for survivors. Know Your IX sent a letter to OCR last year asking for clarification of schools' responsibility to mitigate financial burdens faced by survivors, including tuition reimbursement:"In addition, guidance should make it explicit that schools are required to reimburse survivors for lost tuition (and the student loan interest incurred as a result) to avoid penalizing students for experiencing violence."
Does anyone know if there has been an official response or further guidance from OCR specifically about tuition reimbursement? Tuition reimbursement was part of OCR's agreement with Tufts University last year, but I'm not sure if that measure is meant to be applied prescriptively to other universities.
Any language I can point to or other relevant case precedent would be much appreciated.
