Constance, what a great question and glad you posed it. Ours is both campus and community. We were doing quarterly but have now moved to monthly with our community partners alternating which meetings they come to. We have restructured our team to be action orientated. There are smaller groups within the larger one (training, awareness, and underserved communities). They have also begun responding to on and off campus issues. Currently there is a bill at the legislature for campus carry that our team is opposing. We've also had some things come up with our local law enforcement that they've been vocal about. I feel like the group is always changing. We try something for a little while and then if it doesn't work we try something else.

I'd love to hear from others what they are doing to engage their members and keep them engaged.
Hope this helps!

Cristina

Greetings Colleagues!

I hope this email finds you well. I'm VERY interested in learning from your experiences with collaborative campus and community teams.

We have a group of campus and community partners which has met quarterly for 5 years and are re-evaluating the best structure and purpose for this team and our partnerships. I would love to hear your thoughts on the following:

1) Do you have a collaborative team composed of campus and/or community partners?
2) What are the primary purposes for your team? What tasks is it charged with? Does it serve more of an advisory or action-centered role?
3) How does your team function (i.e. one group or with subcommittees, frequency of meetings, etc.)?
4) Any other information you believe would be relevant and beneficial to know.

Thanks in advance for your feedback, experiences, and suggestions!

Peace,
Connie
