Hi all,

I’m getting ready to launch a pro bystander behavior campaign on campus next week. Students will receive a free t-shirt promoting my violence prevention group in exchange for taking on doing something to be better bystanders.

I’d like to offer:

o   a list of great websites to visit for response resources or self-education;

o   videos to watch to learn more;

o   newsletters/twitter feeds to subscribe to;

o   ways to use your social media proactively (a list of post topics/ideas etc.)

I’m hoping that maybe you would like to offer a suggestion that you know of, work for, love, etc.

My plan is to offer six types of involvement. Two categories: internal focus and external/outward focus. Both with  low, medium and high level engagement. I’m working off of Dorothy Edwards quote of ‘no one has to do everything, but everyone has to do something.’ Students will take a paper chip with one of those types of involvement and sign a card of paper. The signature cards will be linked together and displayed on campus with the quote in the middle of all the signatures.

I’ll be posting about the campaign at www.oneonta.edu/a/knowviolence if you want to see how everything comes together.

Thanks in advance,

Rebecca Harrington
