In celebration of SAAM and its focus on campus sexual assault, Culture of Respect is excited to offer two opportunities to showcase the student voice in the movement to address and prevent campus sexual violence.
Host a Culture of Respect Awareness Event
Modeled on the success of a recent Culture of Respect event on a California campus, we are seeking schools across the country to host a student awareness event during April. The SAAM-oriented event could be hosted by a campus group (sports team, residential hall, women’s studies or women’s interest group, Greek life, etc.) and could feature a concert, theatre performance, spoken word event or even just a party! Culture of Respect has created a comprehensive resource package to help students organize their event and can provide stickers, decorative flags, talking points and educational materials. Email for more information and to receive the resource package.
#CultureofRespect Video Project
Specifically, April 7th is the SAAM National Day of Action and Culture of Respect is asking college students: “What does a Culture of Respect mean to you?” This virtual event allows any current student or group to produce a brief video on the subject and join the national conversation by posting their #CultureofRespect submission on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms on April 7th. The most creative submissions will be also profiled on our social media channels. For more information and to participate, invite students to visit the #CultureofRespect Video Project Facebook event.
Happy April!
Best,
Alli
