Good morning,

My colleague at End Violence Against Women International asked me to pass along information about their upcoming annual conference, which has specific programs on ending sexual assault and domestic violence on college campuses. I’ve copied Alison Jones-Lockwood on this e-mail, in case you have questions about the conference.

Thank you,

We invite you to join us for our 2015 International Conference on Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Campus Responses in New Orleans, Louisiana April 7-9, 2015.

The following are just a few of the sessions dedicated specifically to campus responses:

Ending Intimate Partner Violence on College Campuses - A Paradigm Shift

In this session, participants will learn about the context and unique dynamics of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking on campuses - with particular focus on multidisciplinary strategies that are designed to eliminate it. The presentation will be given by prosecution expert Roger Canaff and Assistant Professor Sheetal Ranjan of William Paterson University, who serves as Project Director for the Campus Violence Prevention Program, both of whom have worked extensively in this area.

Understanding the Rights of Survivors of Campus Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Stalking

Presenters Bridgette Harwood and Rachel Kohler, with the Network for Victim Recovery of DC, will educate participants about this topic during their session entitled: U of Rights: Advocacy and Legal Support for College Campus Survivors.

Reducing Domestic Violence on Your Campus

During this workshop, Stepping Up: Reducing Dating Violence on Post-Secondary Campuses, presenters Gaye Warthe and Particia Kostouros, from Mount Royal University, will explore two pilot projects focused on the development, implementation, and evaluation of a peer facilitated dating violence prevention program for post-secondary students.

Police and Victim Advocacy: Are We On the Same Page?

This workshop, presented by Major Steve Rittereiser and Natalie Dolci with the University of Washington Police Department, will focus on promising practices in campus safety, including the efforts to cultivate a coordinated campus response.

And Much More...

This conference will provide you with three full days of training that includes six plenary sessions, as well as the opportunity to choose from 50 workshops. We are certain that you will learn new ideas and strategies to take home and apply on the job. What Others Are Saying About Our Conferences

I'm early in my career investigating sexual assaults, and listening to the presentations not only provided me with new investigative tools, but a greater motivation to improve my departments overall response.  I look forward to future training with EVAWI.  Thank you all for the great work!

- Detective, Campus Police Department

This conference has made me more aware and compassionate in doing my job as a Domestic Violence Officer! - Law Enforcement Officer

This was an exceptional conference - the wide variety of areas covered gave me insight on all aspects of a crime. Understanding the overall situation has better prepared me in assisting victims of crime. - Victim Advocate

The EVAWI training was a great place to recharge and gather new ideas to solve old problems. I appreciated the space to learn and reflect on what can be done differently in my home state.
