Hi folks --

We are writing from Hollaback! with an exciting invitation: on Wednesday, October 29th, students and leaders across the country will carry a mattress or a pillow with them to show support for survivors of sexual and domestic violence as part of the national Day of Action. Can you spread the word to students on your campus?

Please send this form to students and student groups on your campus interested in signing up. More information on how to participate is after the jump.

This national Day of Action is inspired by the activism and art of Emma Sulkowicz who is boldly carrying a dorm mattress around campus as long as her rapist continues to attend Columbia University. By carrying a mattress or pillow on October 29, we will tangibly express our commitment to lift the burden of sexual violence from the shoulders of survivors and hold our schools accountable for protecting and supporting students.

This event is organized by Columbia student leaders from No Red Tape and Carrying The Weight Together, with support from Hollaback! and Rhize.  For more information on what you can do, check out the Carrying The Weight Together website and FAQ page.

Sincerely,

Emily
