Dear Colleagues:

I just wanted to be sure that you saw that we (Futures Without Violence) recently launched a short but aggressive social action called the other freshman 15. This is a college campaign with our own twist on the familiar Freshman 15 weight gain worry. The catchy title was developed by a colleague and we hope that it catches on… the first 15 weeks of college can be a risky time for college freshman, we need to worry about more than weight gain.

 

The ask in this campaign is to email the presidents of colleges and share your concern about sexual assault in college. We have populated the website with many schools, if you don’t find yours, you need to type in the presidents email, otherwise, it is all done for you. There are three letters, one for parents of students in college, one for students and one for alums. Please send an email to the school you most identify with and urge your friends and family to do the same through various social media platforms. The website is super user friendly. Help us share the message far and wide.
