Dear SAPC,

 

The Women, Gender, and Sexual Equity (WGSE) department at UC Santa Barbara is recruiting for our next Director of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resources. The Director is a senior member of the WGSE and oversees all aspects of the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity as well as represents the University on issues related to gender identity within the campus, local, and national communities.

Priority deadline for applications is September 3, 2014.

 

Minimum Requirements:  Master's degree or equivalent combination of years of experience. Demonstrated leadership experience working with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Ally (LGBTQIA) communities; Experience managing budget, programs, and personnel; Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Understanding of intersections of LGBT concerns and issues related to race, class, gender, nationality, and disability.    

 

Desirable Requirements:  Demonstrated knowledge of LGBTQIA identity development and issues in a higher education setting; Knowledge of current policy/law related to LGBTQIA issues in higher education; Educational and/or work experience in Counseling, Social Work, or Student Affairs; Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work in a team and to build coalitions and partnerships; At least 2-3 years professional management experience.
