Hello to all TBTN Event Holders and Attendees (both past and present)!

 

TBTN is requesting your help in adding to our history collection and story sharing series.  We have been asked by quite a number of students, gender studies departments, and even the White House about how they can get involved with TBTN and hear more about our events.   We have already started recording our oral history with some of our board members and their friends.  It has been so exciting to have the recorded history of our events on campuses when women dressed in bed sheets died black carrying broomsticks (and there is more to the story, but I don’t want to type more that may be unsuitable without proper warning ;-)). 

 

Can you contribute?! 

 

We are collecting items from past and current events for a national TBTN History Display. 

Additionally, we are collecting stories and music from TBTN events. 

Your submissions may be used for any of these purposes:

1. Assist TV shows and movies with their content, including:
1. Scandal
2. CSI
2. Run another series of essays for Huffington Post again during Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
3. Traveling Historic TBTN Display for Museums around the country
4. Posting on the TBTN Website
5. Other TBTN efforts and initiatives

 

We know how meaningful your TBTN memorabilia is on a personal level, but if you are willing to share the spirit with others as part of a public display, we would be most appreciative.

Other needed items:  photos (scan in old ones) and video footage if you have any.  Newspaper articles.

We are also creating an international Voicemail Message of support for survivors and Shatter the Silence Stories through our VoiceQuilt.  If you have interest in adding a message of strength, please let me know.

All Photos should be systematically named as follows:  (Name of Event Holder)_TBTN_(Year)_(Photo #)    For example:  Univ_of_FL_TBTN_2013_3
