Here's Middlebury's language, which we adapted from several other schools'
policies:
"If prior to or during the investigation the College becomes aware that
additional College policies may have been violated, students will be notified
in writing, and these too will be investigated and resolved through this
process. While not condoning infractions of any kind, the College considers
reporting incidents of sexual misconduct to be of paramount importance.
Therefore, to encourage reporting, the College may, where appropriate, offer
leniency with respect to other policy violations that may be revealed as a
result of a report. The nature and scope of the leniency will depend on the
particular circumstances involved. The JAO will have sole discretion in
determining the appropriate course of action."

At University of Delaware, our Amnesty policy related to sexual assault is
provided in our Sexual Assault policy in the Code of Conduct here:
http://www.udel.edu/stuguide/13-14/code.html#assault
We are also working on interpretation services. In the past we have utilized
interpreters from our English Language Institute, but we realize that they
are not trained in the topics we address so this is not the best scenario.
So we have explored options and we can utilize the same interpretation
services that are utilized by local rape crisis centers and police
departments in our area. We continue to look at this issue and are
considering how to best address it.

Subject: Amnesty Language & Interpretation Services
Hi Colleagues,
I have two random questions that I am hoping for feedback on:
First, does anyone mind sharing the language that they have from their
campuses regarding amnesty policies for students reporting interpersonal
violence who have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, particularly
for students under 21 years of age? Any information or language that you are
willing to share would be very helpful.
Second, what interpretation services do you use when working with
international students, or significant others of students, who may not speak
English? We are currently in the process of looking into interpretation
services since our campus has a high number of international students.
Thank you all for your time and I look forward to hearing your feedback.
Happy Monday!
