Hi all,

I know that the Clery Center would agree with all of us that increased reporting is a positive sign that students are coming forward, typically not an increase in prevalence of incidents.  I’m wondering if any of you would be willing to send me your Clery number increase stories/numbers. We are trying to indicate to media that this is not an increase in crime, and we’re hoping providing additional examples will help. Thank you for your help.

I’ll share ours as well:

2010 – 10 reported forcible sex offenses

2011 – 12 reported forcible sex offenses

2012 – 25 reported forcible sex offenses

Prior to that, we had low single digits. I know that this is happening on other campuses, so I would love for us to be able to support each other.

My best,

LB
