So glad that so many of you agree, and forgive my typo in my original post. I propose that we have a “Share the Love of our Cause” Valentine’s campaign and all recruit some of our favorite bright thinkers, attorneys, researchers, and government policy folks to join our discussions. If we all reached out to 2 or 3 of our favorite people, we would likely have an even more helpful resource within the next month. If any of you belong to other list serves for student affairs, sexual violence, higher education administrators, women’s centers or advocacy programs, and would like to have me send the same invite to the 35 people I would like to invite to our group, please email me directly with the information about how to join that listserve. I would be happy to help us all network as effectively and helpfully as possible. Fresh minds and thoughts will help us all be stronger in 2014! With the blend of posts I have seen posting, it is my impression that we seem to have people from businesses (like law firms and consulting firms), those working at schools, those who are professors, survivors, policy makers, activists, and many other folks in this space. I am going to send out the word to about 35 people I think would be fantastic contributors. I think they would need to email in order to request to join us. If I am mistaken, please let me know. Thanks to everyone for your great passion for this cause! Katie Katie Koestner From: dilapi [mailto:] Great idea Katie. Thanks for adding your thoughts. Hi everyone, I was thinking about the voices we hear on our collective discussions. I find this listserve and the questions posed to be incredibly helpful. I wondered if anyone else ever thought about the guidance that we may be missing and other viewpoints we may not be hearing. Would it be possible to invites some of the agencies that have the most accurate answers on some of the law and policy questions to our group? We seem to have 2 or 3 attorneys who provide their opinions and thoughts quite frequently; and information passed along from primary sources through secondary means. Perhaps, we might want other perspectives from attorneys who represent schools and as well as those who represent victims. Does anyone else think this would be helpful in keeping us all best-informed? Katie Koestner |
