Hi everyone, We’re hoping to answer a couple questions at Middlebury about student our advocacy program: 1.
For those institutions with advocate programs, how do you publicize (if at all) the student members of the group? We are trying to weigh safety issues with listing students names, pictures, etc. online and in written
materials with the intent of lowering barriers to accessing services (so folks can see the face of someone they might be speaking with on the phone, etc.). One safety step we are considering is to make the site with the advocates information password protected
so that only folks with Middlebury email accounts could log in. We also know that this does not eliminate all safety risks.
2.
For those who track confidential contacts with your advocates, do you encourage your students to record names, pseudonyms, or create codes? We want to maintain confidentiality, but also would like to be able to
track repeat callers. Please reply directly to me with any wisdom you may be able to offer. Thanks in advance for your time! Best, Barbara Barbara A. McCall, MPH, CHES Director of Health and Wellness Education 137 McCullough Student Center Middlebury College Middlebury, VT 05753 802.443.5361 |
