The Violence Intervention and Prevention Center is pleased to announce our
search for a new professional staff member committed to violence prevention 
and
social change:

Social Justice Educator
University of Kentucky Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Center
Home of the Green Dot

The VIP Center is the unit at the University of Kentucky charged with
addressing the prevention and intervention of interpersonal violence. This
mission includes the creation and implementation of education and prevention
strategies that will increase awareness and responsiveness of the UK community
regarding violence.

The Social Justice Educator is a vital resource for facilitating education and
prevention activities related to power-based personal violence including 
sexual
assault, stalking, and partner violence.  This individual will engage 
students,
staff, and faculty with dialogue and activism addressing root causes of
power-based personal violence, primary prevention, bystander intervention, and
advocacy. Specifically, the Social Justice Educator will develop relationships
and engage men, LGBT students, and students of color as partners in violence
prevention activities. This role will develop, implement, and assess dynamic
programs, interactive trainings, and creative strategies to engage the campus
community in violence prevention efforts.
