Hello Colleagues,
If you have seen the Academy-Award nominated documentary "The Invisible War" about the epidemic of sexual assault in the military, then you know how powerful it is and how influential it has been in facilitating change for all branches of the military. Learn more about the film & see the trailer at: http://invisiblewarmovie.com/. It was shown at the End Violence Against Women International conference in Baltimore earlier this month and Director Kirby Dick & Producer Amy Ziering were given an award by EVAWI for the film. At UD, we showed the film this month with Air Force representatives present for discussion as one of our Sexual Assault Awareness Month programs.
One of my volunteer victim advocates emailed Kirby Dick, to send him kudos and ask him to consider making a documentary about sexual assaults on college campuses. She was startled and excited to receive this response: "I actually am now considering doing a film on sexual assaults on campus. I'll make my decision over the next couple of months. If I don't move ahead it's because I don't wish to cover similar material again. Either way it's a film that needs to be made."
So we thought - what if he hears from a slew of us who work in the field? If you want to help, please email your thoughts to Kirby Dick's public email address at:
